I believe that how you start your day has a great impact on how you handle situations throughout the rest of it.
Ever since my children were newborns, I’ve been using aromatherapy to sooth them. Instead of waking them with alarms, I simply spritz a little eucalyptus in the air (opens and invigorates sinuses) and welcome them into a nice hot bath. My boys are now accustomed to waking by 6 in the morning, taking a nice bath, and starting their day off with clean bodies and fresh minds.
At bedtime, I massage their backs with calming lavender oil (also good for headaches and insect bites) and dab neroli oil on their pillows to relieve tension and anxiety. Once in a while, I’ll even rub a little essential oil on my husband’s shoulder when he starts to stress in traffic. I’ve learned that it’s often the simplest home remedies that make the greatest difference.
